This is an original 1909 black and white halftone print of a group of Rurales in Vera Cruz, Mexico. Rurales is a common term for the Mexican Guardia Rural which was a force of mounted police that existed between 1861 and 1914. The group was meant to control the widespread banditry in Mexico.
