This is an original 1910 halftone print of the U. S. S. Georgia. This ship was first launched in 1904 from the Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. The ship was commissioned at the Boston Navy Yard in 1906.

Henry Reuterdahl

(1871-1925) Henry Reuterdahl was best known for his paintings of ships and the sea. He is also known for his recruiting posters for WWI when he was artistic advisor to the U.S. Navy Recruiting Bureau. He accompanied the American Fleet on several voyages including one through the Straits of Magellan in 1907. ReuterdahlÕs work can be found in the collections of the National Museum in Washington, The Naval Academy in Annapolis, and the Naval War College in Newport.
