This is an original 1914 halftone print of Abenteuer des Malers Binder by Moritz von Schwind. Schwind was an Austrian painter born in Vienna. He was commissioned in 1834 to decorate King Ludwigs new palace with wall paintings illustrating the works of the poet Tieck.
This is a beautiful image showing a young girl who appears to be going on an adventure. You cannot tell where she's coming from or going to, yet it seems like an interesting voyage. There is a women in the background who may be her mother or older sister, watching and possibly warning her not to continue. Although all of this is uncertain, this is still an interesting image.
