"The Stars."
This is an original 1915 tipped-in halftone print of "The Stars," sculptures by Alexander Stirling Calder, on the Colonnade of Stars in the Court of the Universe at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. (Please note that there is printing on the reverse of the mounting board.)
Period Paper is pleased to offer a collection of original hand-tipped halftone prints of the sculptures and mural decorations that were displayed at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition that held in San Francisco, California, in 1915. This exposition was a celebration of both the completion of the Panama Canal in 1914 and a celebration of the revival and recovery of San Francisco following its devastating earthquake in 1906.
