This is an original 1923 halftone print of the Colossi of Memnon in Luxor (ancient Thebes), Egypt. The Colossi of Memnon depict Amenhotep III, and were built in the 14th century BC of quartzite sandstone found at el-Gabal el-Ahmar. One of the sculptures is known for its "singing," made when the wind passes through a crack in the structure, made after an earthquake in 27 BC.
