This is an original 1924 color halftone print of the historic Bayard Rock cleft formation that stands along the shores of the River Meuse in the city of Dinant, Namur, Belgium, Europe. According to legend, the formation was split by the mythical hooves of the magical bay horse named Bayard from the
chansons de geste or "songs of heroic deeds".
