This is an original 1925 two-color cover for The Youth's Companion magazine, February 19, 1925, that features a quote by George Washington (1732-1799), the first President of the United States of America (USA) and the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. The quote reads; "Almighty God, we make our earnest prayer that thou wilt keep the United States in thy hold protection; that thou wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government, and to entertain a brotherly affection and love one for another and for their fellow citizens of the United States at large."
