This is an original 1925 halftone print feautring members of the Wakamba tribe preparing for a traditional dance. The Wakamba tribe is located in Kenya, and used drums to accompany their dancing, as well as the occasional flute or xylophone, neither of which is depicted in the image. Clay whitewash is applied to the legs of many of the young men. Photography by H.T. Cowling.
