This is an original 1932 halftone print of Herbert Hoover. Hoover was the 31st president of the United States. The Great Depression hit during his presidency and Hoover was considered a disappointment. Shanty towns began appearing across the United States and were known by the people as "Hoovervilles," to demonstrate their frustration and disappointment. Photography by Dr. Erich Salomon.
