The caption writes, "Here, between the railroad in the foreground and the smoke-fogged tankers on the background of the Lake, the refineries of Standard Oil of Indiana send their odors higher than the passing plane and spell out, like a war-time bomber's signal on the ground, the frontiers of another land."
