This is an original 1936 color print of a self portrait painted by Rembrandt in 1660, at the age of 54 (Rembrandt died 3 years later). Rembrandt would paint himself when trying new artistic techniques or when he was too poor to hire proper models to pose for him. The original print of this image has since been owned by the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
