This is an original 1943 color print portrait of Samuel Finley Breese Morse, the American inventor. Morse helped invent the single-wire telegraph system and Morse code. At the time of this publication, the portrait was located at the Addison Gallery of the Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.
