This is an original 1949 color offset lithograph map of the Battle of Medenine, taking place March 6th of 1943. After being chased across Northern Africa by Allied forces in late 1942, Erwin Rommel ordered an Axis counterattack to delay and disrupt British and American offensives. The attack failed to surprise Allied forces, and was quickly abandoned.
