This is an original 1954 halftone print (with French caption) of a study done for the larger work, "The Grand Parade." The collection appealed to the public by examining the circus, country outings and cyclists. It quickly became a defining work in Léger's repertoire. Léger was a French painter, filmmaker and sculptor and is known for his simplified versions of subject matter.
