This is an original 1955 duotone rotogravure of a man known as a sannyasa which is someone who has reached the topmost and final stage of the ashram systems. The process of getting to this level is traditionally taken by men or women beyong the age of fifty. This sannyasa is from the Sri Anandamayi Ma Ashram at Varanasi (Banaras), Uttar Pradesh, India. This man was once a high court judge.
